Nimbus is a calm, focused writing space that fades the world out so you can hear yourself again.
A canvas with no chrome, no sidebars, no notifications.
Quiet AI surfaces themes across your weeks of writing.
End-to-end encrypted, exportable as plain markdown anytime.
We built Nimbus because the tools we had were shouting at us when we needed to listen.
Software has spent a decade optimizing for engagement. Notifications, badges, streaks, dopamine loops — all the machinery of attention-capture, applied to the act of writing. It worked. We write more than ever, and we think less than ever.
Nimbus is a refusal of that bargain. There is no feed. There are no streaks. Nothing ever pings. The page is the page. You are alone with your thoughts in the way you used to be when paper was the only option.
What we add — quiet AI that surfaces patterns in your own writing over weeks and months — only ever speaks when you ask. It is a librarian, not a salesman.
This is a small product, by design. We hope it disappears.
The trouble with most days is that they begin with a list. Before the kettle is on, before the light has finished arriving, the phone has already told me twelve things, asked me four, and reminded me of three.
I am trying to remember what it felt like to begin a day with a question instead of an answer
I didn't realize how much my writing tools were performing for me until I used one that wasn't. The silence took a week to get used to. Now I can't go back.
The pattern recap at the end of each month is the strangest mirror I've ever held up to myself. Worth it for that alone.
It feels like writing in a room with the door closed. I forgot how much I missed that.
